Statistics says no. You can't expect 6295 people to keep playing a game they don't like can you?
So about 4,000 people stopped playing CS between "Which map is the least balanced?" and "Were the changes introduced in CS 1.4 (pause after jumping, removing speed walking) for the better, in your opinion?" Hell, 1,700 people started to play again because of cl_dynamiccrosshair! Hey, and did you know that exactly 5,000 people started to play again because of CS 1.6 excitement?! I thought not.

All recent polls get less votes because the poll was moved to a less visible position on the main page and we haven't been making news posts about them. I'm sorry to completely blow your mind with the following statement, but more people both play CS and visit my website now than compared to when CS 1.4 was released.

You should probably accept that you lost since, you know, an entire year later and there are no plans to bring back the glory of ingenius strategy of jumping over and over.

ruined the fucking game when they removed jumping and aiming in the air so now there's 60% less skill to help to n00bs.
If the game is ruined then why do you still play it?

I never said that many people quit, only you can't expect that same amount to still be around in order to make this poll accurate. Making the point that CS is better now from this poll is moot.

When i play CS i usually in the course of a map scream "I HATE THIS FUCKING GAME" but i really don't hate it and will continue playing it until a) i go blind b) break my wrist. now i not sure if CS or masturbation will be the cause of those.

See, you're stupid so you're missing the point of the poll. The point is to ask the CS community what they think, not the former CS community. The poll is accurate in measuring that. Personally I doubt many people left CS after 1.4 considering you, the token 1.3 fanboy, is still visiting the site and presumably playing CS.

No one is making the point that CS is better from this poll, they're making the point that CS is better because it is now that deathmatchy jumping was removed in their opinion. Do you understand how a simple poll has no bearing on whether the game has actually improved or not, is it simply a matter of opinion?

Of course if the results swayed the other way then you would have been e-mailing Erik Johnson with a link and an attached .midi file holding the Rocky theme song so you can, in your own little mind, proclaim victory over the Roman aggressors.

"Judging from last week's poll (above), it seems that we've adapted to the changes from 1.4."

See, you're stupid because you can't read what was written. Because I visit this site means I play the game? I haven't played it for several months. I know the poll means nothing, which is why I stated it was moot to say it does. You stole my idea btw.

I'm sorry, but since when does "we" mean "us and people who are no longer part of the group I am talking about"?

I'm glad you haven't played CS in months since you hate the game, but maybe you should stop visiting this website every five minutes since it has no news that applies to you and is just a proxy for you to whine about a year-old CS 1.4 release.

I havven't played the game for several months but that doesn't mean I don't like it anymore does it...

What I really don't like is mor elike the attitude of some players that are just so un-friendly and disrespectful of the others that I really barely play with pubs. And since I don't have pubs nor friends to play with, I don't play anymore.

Believe me, CS 1.5 without any lamers > all (well that's my opinion)

(and for those wondering why I still stay here, it's because I think the CS-N community is just so much better than the average 8year old spamming their mic and tking you. Reminds me of the good game I knew before)

I could have told you the people still playing adapted without a poll. But did they really adapt, or did they only stay because the changes fitted them the best? Looking at only the people now is like saying before the SARS virus there were 1 billion people in China, now there are 1 million. Looks like we all adapted. Again a moot point.

First of all, you need to get a grip of the word "moot." Moot means "debatable," it does not mean "irrelevant." Yes, it is a debatable point which is why we are discussing it. Stop using that word improperly. I know your five minute viewing of The West Wing before switching to E!'s Wild On... improved your vocabulary quite a bit but you are simply flaunting. You look very stupid to everyone here who actually knows what the word means, which, granted, is a grand total of one person.

Secondly, you're comparing the deaths of 999 million people to an increase in the CS community population. A better analogy would be one that actually made any sense or is even close to being analogous to what we're talking about.

If you're claiming that the poll is useless and stupid, then welcome to the fantastical world of e-polling where the results and questions both mean absolutely nothing.

actually I'm pretty sure it means either:

                          debatable

                          or

has been debated and isn't relevant for debatation (or whatever)

I'm aware what moot means and how it's typically used however I was tired of him repeating it over and over, as if he's arguing in front of a jury.
