Ummm, just wondering. Is having HLamp installed "legal" in CAL play. I don't mean running it while playing in a match. I mean, does just having it installed violate any rules. I am unclear on this issue and would like to install it, but I don't want to violate any rules.

Yea it's legal. It doesn't hook itself in to the game (like OGC) or modify the game in any way.

It does give you an advantage though. A lesser advantage that is. Not being able to hear your enemies is a good way to ensure your demise.

is this going to lag cs?
Well not a whole lot more (read: basically nothing) than just leaving winamp open.

...so long as you're running better than Win98.

you can't hear footsteps but you listen to music, which makes you have a good time, which is hopefully why you play CS. As long as it's not serious play, I'm listening to music.

oh and what kind of feeling is "feeling n00b" ? Never felt that before.

To me its when i just playing to kill time or to relieve a bit of stress. Kinda like when i first started playing, not really caring about misson objectives throwing flash nades at the beginning of a round, just being an all around ass. Most of the time im play seriously because thats what stat whores do even during scrims.

when i first started playing (beta 7.0) i actually felt the need to follow objectives moreso than now. the community was a lot better back then.

when did having fun rhyme with fragfeast/ no objective following?

I almost only play for fun (with music), but I always follow objectives. And I'm not a stats whore at all.

Take your stupid preamp slider and yank it all the way down on your equalizer in Winamp. Then you can listen to your tunes (softly) while still being able to hear footsteps and such. I play with music on fairly regularly these days.
