News items with a Bit of retro spin.- cscentral has teamed up with a few other sites to host a mapping contest. while the contest ended on april 14th, they're asking for your help in judging them. they've released a map pack filled with the contenders with which you can playtest the maps and then vote for your favorite on their forums. grab the pack like it's hot, yo.
- sk.swe has released a frag movie featuring potti, heaton, fisker, ahl, and brunk. while i've heard this is a very good production, i haven't been able to download it yet due to some connection complications. featuring some of europe's best players, i'm sure you won't be disappointed. several reliable mirrors to choose from, but i suggest this one for everyone in north america. you can also get it from fegis.nu or fjuttad.com if you're located in europe.
- half-irc has been updated to version 1.35. fyi, half-irc is a program that allows you to chat in your favorite irc channel while shooting people in the head on your favorite server. the new version fixes several bugs that users were complaining about in the previous version. bling, bling.

Yet again more early morning bits of news.- hobostyle is wanting people and their clans to come to his site, gamerevolution and register themselves and their clan. with registration clans get their own forums for free. so if you can't figure out how to set up phpbb2 or even have webspace, go check gamerevolution.
- cs demo sent word [via kali] that they've got a new 16 person server up and running. so head to their page to find the ip out for their new server.
- cs ctf alpha 5 has been released with some bug fixes and a few new maps. [---]pablo says that the temporary website for cs ctf is up over here.[break="click to see entire changelog"]alpha 5

Yet again, more bits of news to make your morning all that much better.- [stdn]kidsparkle sent word he updated his overhaul pack so that it's not a corrupted download. update: at the moment mirror 1 is working and mirror 2 should be working shortly.
- another word in the way of things being updated. solidvelvet said that if you couldn't download the redline program to use this as an alternative.
- clan #anti-frag made a cpl 2002 highlight movie on their their site that runs about 7 minutes, and is about 129mb. update: their site got some more bandwith so go check it out.
