CS 1.6: Weeks Away

Well as for me at last some new guns !! I played the beta and was like oooooh , think how certain stuff, the shield for instance will make old maps a little more fair and playable.. militia for example is terrorist awp holiday camp.. a good ct can get through em but a wall of awps is a bitch at least the shield gives a little more playability :) thats my 2 pennies.. :)

I'm gonna miss having two separate versions to choose from at will, and the smaller, community feel that I get a small taste of with 1.6b, seeing the same people regularly. Ah well.

speaking of all things 1.6: is the new buy menu going to require all new binds or just a few additional buy scripts? custom models still in 1.6?

this was covered somewhere else but I'm feeling insecure about the change to 1.6 I hope the new version brings in some more noobs: my small server is empty most of the time. it seams like people prefer the chaos of a 20 person server to the small CAL match style one.

I think there are console commands to buy weapons now. Like maybe "buyak" to buy an ak. This will need new binds, and will prevent things like weapons having different purchase number sequences due to the new price-classed buy arrangement.

Yeah, pretty much buying guns without a script really sucks now, as the buy menus got really screwed up to the point that you'd use different numbers to buy the same gun depending on the team you're playing on.



However, the scripts are much, much better. Seeing as the buy menu doesn't even have to open up for you to purchace weapons, you never have to worry about it sticking open after buying something, and it's very fast, even for us 56kers.



And yes, custom models will be allowed in 1.6, from what we've been told. They aren't currently allowed in the beta test, however.

Come on 1.6.....Some of the maps need to be 'adjusted' I still think teh Ts are on top....AK-47 ez and cheap gun to use...CT's need a good countering weapon...which i hear and read is going to be on 1.6....can it come any slower?
