Hello, and welcome to tonight's CAL-i predictions. I've slacked off for a few weeks now and admittedly I should be putting forth a better effort - but there is a reason for this. Click through for your predictions and my farewell.[break="click"]If any of you have read my work regularly you'd know I'm a theatre major. I recently auditioned and have been hired to work in professional theatre the whole summer (State Fair and Hello Dolly). I will be departing on sunday and will most likely not have access to a computer or internet most of the summer. For that reason, I have to step down from my work at CS-Nation for the summer. I have been on staff for 2 years now and it saddens me to take a break, but I only hope rizzuh will keep my seat warm when I return at the end of summer. Now clear your tears and read my preds!
zEx -over- Echo 7 :: 15-9
"Ok sublyme, e7 tied 3D and barely lost to GB who has defeated zEx. Why are you predicting zEx over e7?" Because so far e7 hasn't been able to take a win when it counts the most. They can tie 3D, sure, but they've yet to actually defeat them. As shown in the GB match, they also lost 11-13. They prove that they have potential but just can't pull through. Thus, I can't see them taking more than 9 off a still-strong zEx team.
3D -over- Green Berets :: 14-10
3D takes the wins when they count, and I don't think they want GB to continue their upset streak. GB will come close but fall short.
The Unreal -over- art of eXecution :: 14-10
aoX has had some nice games this season and has been running fairly strong. However, The Unreal has taken out some contenders when nobody thought they would, and for that reason TU takes it tonight.
xeno -over- Texas Area Untouchables :: 13-11
I was really torn in this prediction as xeno is my favorite for being the underdog this season and TAU was just getting back on track. I want to give TAU the benefit of the doubt but after aoX destroyed them it's only logical for me to predict xeno.
Pinnacle -over- Issues with Authority :: 15-9
Ugh, this match is weird to predict due to each teams inconsistency. I'm handing it to Pinnacle based on how long their squad has been intact and iwa is still just returning to the field.
MurK -over- Excess :: 13-11
Excess has proven they can put up rounds, and they've finished finals recently and should be practicing a good deal. MurK has amazing skills but their icelandic pings hold them back. Look for a MurK victory but if Excess comes up with the win don't be very surprised as MurK's pings aren't anything impressive.
Legends -over- dictators 0f fate
Another case of on and off teams. Handing it to LgD based on their longevity.
Gamers-X -over- THE STOMPING GROUNDS :: 17-7
Gamers-X is currently the hottest team online in the US, taking out 3D, zEx and just about any of the other competition. Their only loss is really to v2m but I don't measure their success based solely on their online games. GX has what it takes to easily beat TSG tonight.
TEC -over- Ownij :: 15-9
Ownij has a nice amount of wins for their rookie season, while TEC is still the powerhouse they will be. I don't see this map going in Ownij's favor.
Clan Crisis -over- Rival :: 13-11
Clan Crisis has always impressed me with their stability and strength, and tonight that should shine through in what will be a nice win for Cc.
shockwave -over- frag university
frag has surprised some with their win over WEW awhile back, but that looks like a bit of a fluke. shockwave has surprised many this season with the wins they've achieved, and I don't doubt they can add another one.
WeekEnd Warriors -over- c[h]ikara :: 14-10
The new WEW squad is still strong and [h] still has their old roster which still has failed to pick up many wins, despite a good amount of rounds.
gsx.tx -ovr- Short Yellow Bus :: 16-8
SYB has been struggling it looks like but there isn't a lot they can't do, as when they were moved down from CAL-i they just won CAL-m again and got back. gsx while being a newcomer has an impressive talent base and I think they can take this tonight.
Biodegradable Heroes -over- The Speakeasy Offensive :: 14-10
TSO has no original starters. BiO has been on a losing streak. However, their streak is outweighed by TSO's. BiO finally gets to pull out.
Hicks With Sticks -over- nerve :: 14-10
nerve has been putting forth a more concentrated effort lately but it looks like they'll just fall to Hicks tonight. Hicks has been working harder it appears and it also shows, so tonight they can add another to their win column.
Thanks for the good times the past 2 years and I look forward to returning in 3 months time. Enjoy cs while I'm gone, as a lot of exciting things are coming up - 1.6, CS: cz and Half-Life 2. Thanks for all the readers who have been here for me forever.
