We've updated the public security modules again. Some clients with 56k

connections have been experiencing problems where they get intermittently

disconnected when playing on secure servers. These security modules should

help correct those problems.



Your Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat servers should update themselves

automatically. Let me know if you have any problems with these security

modules and we'll look into them right away.

Just to clarify things a bit, VALVe is working on detecting the newest breed of cheats being produced. This VAC update only addresses problems that 56K users were having. Someone on the HLDS Mailing List asked about the same thing, and that's what Eric Smith said.

And besides, it's good journalism to thank people for giving you sources that you didn't find yourself.

PLUS: First2Die was the first to submit the VAC update, and Disk2 submitted the explanatory e-mail. So thanks are in order to whoever submits it. But if you decide to deluge us with submissions, 2 things will happen:

1) we'll ignore each one or

2) we'll pull a Ritchey007 and just thank you once in a newsbits listing :)
