I'm with Lockhart, some of the CAL-i coverage on this site is appauling. One example is how easy you were making it seem to 3D, and another example is in some of orions preds last week when he said he thought tec would be rusty, even though they'd been LANning together for the last week or so. In future just direct people to GotFrag.
Sir, I'll state this once, is your foot so far up your ass that it has embedded itself in your brain? zEx has had a rough past on train, hence rizzuh said 3D would have an advantage. I said TEC would be rusty, for they were coming off losses and a week of no match play.

Just because they are LANing doesn't mean they have now devoted their lives to twenty-four seven Counter-strike. Sure they play Counter-strike more together, but I'm sure a lot of the time is also spent messing around and having a good time. Have you ever been to a LAN? If you have, then you should know what I am talking about. If you haven't I don't even think you should have commented. Most of all, if it is so utterly appauling, why in God's name are you here?

No because I'm bored and got nothing better to do. And zEx have a stronger past on train than 3D do.

did you spell 'appalling' like that for effect, or did you think he spelled it right the first time?

The CAL-I coverage on this site is basically intended for pubbers, so I honestly don't think it's that bad. I just wish rizzuh didn't post something to make 3D seem like small gods of the earth, they arent exactly team Joe Montana-Wayne Gretzky-Michael Jordan-Babe Ruth-Pele over there... as we saw, zEx is very very close to being as good as 3D overall, now if they can just DO IT ON LAN! I hope zEx and 3D end up playing each other on Train at the CPL (I hope train is actually played at the CPL and then I don't look like a babbling idiot)

and yeah, the TSN commentating isn't great, but it's not the easiest thing to comment on either, after all, you aren't on HLTV, you're spectating. I do wish they were more prepared for the matches, maybe they should get an ex-CAL-I guy to go on the way the networks get retired sports stars.

Yes, lockhart that is the reason. ;p

I understand commentating isn't the easiest job in the world, but you see ridiculous statements like...

            "Hoo are you here?"

            "Hoo get on"

"Wow people are reading this comment! and this one! and this one!"

They should keep talk like this in IRC PMs and etc.

"zEx advances to the CAL-i finals. 3D, the team that no site can predict a loss for, is removed from another CAL-i playoff. If 3D is really America's only true hopeful for this Summer's CPL event, then Americans need to hope that 3D LAN will once again entirely out-class 3D online."

I thought zex was North American?

Learn to read, please. I put a conditional statement there that eliminates every other American team from the CPL.

This is from the same tournament that has made everyone say 3D are gods and their losses are merely them not trying(despite doing horrible at clikarena). Both teams are very good on train.

I would just like to say that both teams all 4 teams that made the CAL - I semis are amazing, as the rest of CAL - I in general. Through watching quiet a few demos of past matches and just talking to CAL admins and stuff I have come to the opinion of most of the matches of the 3D vs zEx caliber are determined by who is on top of their game that day and who is a bit behind. Though strategy playes a big factor I think that if one team has a few people who just aren't playing like themselves then that will make a big difference in a match.

As for the CAL - I finals I'm glad to see two "underdogs" in the finals but I would definetly not rule out 3D in the CPL.

I own a .22LR pistol, a High Standard one, and lemme tell you, anims dont fit it..

kick is nothing like the default anims for this...

and its not that good anyhow, skin looks weird, -4 for lack of everything + fine tuning

I agree with Giz, I too own a Mark II, and there is no possible way to reload without pulling back the charger on an MII.

The skinning for the arms/gun are amazing, everything looks perfect.

                          -4 for animations

                          +5 for Skinning

                          +1 for concept(read below)

The idea of using a .22 in place of the 5.7x28 is a great idea, seeing how the .22 is a very close caliber to 5.7. If someone could just fix the animations, that'd be awesome.

I personally like this pistol and the .22lr round isnt really close to the 5.7x28 round that the fiveseven shoots but who cares. This is really a Ruger 22/45 not an mk2. I told yama about that after he released it lol.

Modelling youngsters, take note - this is how to make a good model. This is by far and away the best model we've had as SOTD here for many months.

The modelling here is top-notch (though personally I think it's a tad small - I prefer my guns to be a little bit larger-than-life - but that takes literally all of 2 minutes to 'fix', if that, and is only a personal thing anyway), and does the good ol' 1911 justice. I do feel however, that there is some slight poly waste in areas, but nothing severe enough to mark the model down. Everything from the trigger guard to the hammer has been modelled superbly, and while I don't consider the 1911 a particularly beautiful gun in it's own right, this is certainly one of the most beautiful modelling jobs I've seen. Ever.

The skins... well, where to start. Every texture made for this model has been expertly made, and you'll find no bad cases of under-contrast or generic, filter-generated textures here (which seem rampant in most models made in the last few months). And not only are all the textures beautiful and well-made, but there's so many to choose from too it's almost hard to pick which of the great designs to use or mix up. Personally I'm going for the black look combined with the Ivory/gold grip, plus I've already got Photoshop open mixing in a few of the gold parts to the standard black - but that's just my preference. I would highly recommend to anyone using the stainless steel textures that they put them in Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop first and desaturate them by about 50%-60%, as they've been oh-so-slightly over-tinted I think. The gold textures are a little bit simple (I'd have liked to have seen a bit of detail on the sights), but it's really no big loss as these are some of the few textures I've ever seen that pull off the gold look convincingly.

My only one little real niggle is the animations. I'd love them if it wasn't for the origins they come on and the awkward way the wrist is bent. Thankfully, the rest of this model makes up for it and I like this model enough to spend the ten minutes or so 'correcting' this small problem.

Overall, while this is no 'Castor Troy' 1911, the beauty of the model itself combined with the sheer amount of choice and flexibility provided here by the many skin textures means you'll be knocking up your own trademark John Travolta-killers in no time.

Put quite simply, this is the best 1911 model ever, with the best 1911 textures ever. If you don't use this, you're insane.
