New VAC Module (2)

After pulling the plug on them earlier this week, VALVe has re-instated newer VAC modules. Here's what's new:

These security modules fix the problems the security modules were having on Tuesday.



They have several new cheat detections and implement the change to our banning policy: When the security modules detect a possible RAM/hardware error on the client's machine, the client will be dropped from the server and will see a message about "memory corruption". The client will NOT be banned from secure servers by VAC. They will only be dropped from the server they were playing on.



This change only applies to possible RAM/hardware errors. We will still be banning clients for more serious cheat detections.

Servers will download the new module--which is for both CS and DoD--automatically.

VAC has become what HLG was, a great anti-cheat that slowly but surely became easy to bypass... the HL engine is way too easy to cheat in. It's like the exit door proceedures at 30,000 feet, uh-huh... illusion of safety. In other news, we have the exact same briefcase.

iv had the same cdkey since i 1st got Half life, dloaded CS (beta6) and have used same one ever since



tbh imo anyone with more than 1 cdkey is either suspect or has somethin 2 hide........................

Yea, my identity. With all these fuckers on public servers looking up my wonid and being like 'Hey you're abel from Fleeing the Funny Farm which is currently 8-1 in UGS-M and is probably bla bla bla' I'm just sitting there staring at the screen wondering why the hell anyone would go to the trouble.. I'd rather not be known as a pub-superstar tbh, just rather be some "passing hax0r" waiting to be booted to console by some "ejeeto large burrito in the pantso admin" (who couldn't possibly be heard through a 10 pixel thick wall) with those golden letters that everyone loves

I've yet to see or hear of anyone actually being caught by VAC on a servr I've been on. then again, most the servers I go on just use Cheating Death instead of VAC, tad better.
