Evidently, the guy that thought up PowerPlay wasn't quite finished being retarded.
Let's think about this here: They're headphones that have a built in soundcard, which gamers don't actually need. And, as far as i can see, a USB connection that makes it impossible to use these "quality" headphones with anything that isn't coming out of your computer. Sounds like a smart purchase to me.
"Welcome CPL and Counter-Strike professionals" indeed. This is the kind of stupid shit that you want only when there's a sponsor paying for it.[SOSD]Shermanator-X007 wrote..
The voice setup utility is worthless. Despite being able to use Voicecomms, the utility constantly tells me that i can't, then crashes.
Every time I clicked on the H-L voice utility setup a little box would pop up saying that it could not find the Mic. mute. So after reading the specs. on this new head set it clearly says "you do not need a sound card." So finally I'll be able to use my voice instead of typing every thing.Comment

I have the DSP-500 (got them for $75 at newegg). I like them but it's anoying as hell to switch between speakers/headphones. I'm selling mine for $70 to someone (he thinks I paid $110
) and getting .Audio 90 ones because my sound card is fine and it's going to waste.

I.ve been using the logitech usb headset that i got with SOCOM for a while now and it sounds fine. Although it took me a little while to figure out how to keep the audio from coming out of the one littel speaker it has, but once i figured it out and got it set up its been nice.Comment

The DSP-500 is nice if your sound card is crap, but I mean come on... $110?!!!
I have a Sound Blaster Live! Value, I bought it in the year 2000, it cost $40 then, it probably costs way less now because of the new Sound Blaster Audigy. It works perfectly fine for in game voice, gaming, audio, etc. And I also have a Plantronics Audio .90 headset, it works perfectly fine, and it's even more comfortable than my $50 Sony Studio Monitor headphones that I use to DJ. The headset cost $30, the sound card was $40. The Audio .90 and DSP-500 have the same design excluding the DSP unit and the USB plug in.
So is $110 really worth the DSP and USB plug in? You can always get the speaker/headset switch they also offer. And their stuff is cheaper on other websites, or even in retail stores. CompUSA, etc.
Plantronics must love all this attention we're showing them about their product line. More free publicity for them I guess.Comment

I just use my computer mb (its has a intergraded stuff (its a COMPAQ PRESARIO 5050, its older than HL) its sucks now because its outdated (only has ram upgrade and voodoo3 2000 16 mb upgrade but the voodoo acts just like my mb intergraded vd (ATX rage pro 2mb) only now i can play NS mod but very poor(4fps which is like see an year past by when it refresh so I don't play NS and DOD and few other mods
)) anyway my mb has intergraded sound and people can hear me and I can hear them and the mic i'm using is ducktaped mic that I ripped off of my old headphones (the hearing part died) and soldiered on to wires that connect in to my mic ports and works fine on HL and mods.... damn this is an long post with only one of these that really end this post. (the only upgrade that did any good other than the ram was WIN Xp from Win 98 compaq ver. but bad thing is I can't play some games (gta2 and some MS-Dos games because I like to revist the past games sometimes))
