i use my headphones for most sound intensive games (such as cs) because the quality is better, it lessens outside intereference (family, tv, other noises), and i use them when my family is sleeping and such. i use my speakers for movies, music, and other things when i like to have bass and loud noise

I put a splitter, plugs into a sound jack, but it has two cords that are sound jacks themselves, so essentially it creates two sound jacks out of one. Then I plug in my headphones and speakers into them, so I can use them both. If i'm not using the speakers, I turn them off.

The DSP-500, no matter which color you get it in, BAR NONE is the BEST headset on the market and i would not settle for anything less than it, the colors are cool but im not buying a 2nd one just for the colors. btw what is wrong with a usb headset, its so convenient because i dont have to plug and unplug speakers, i can have both connected and just change a settings, sound quality is GREAT, and mic is very good quality, it is plantronics :)



reply to someones comment above, i think that i can hear a lot better in game when im using headphones, sound is so key in that game and not to many people know that

the thing is, how good is the positional sound? thats what i'm worried about, am i able to tell with it if someone is behind me or not.

Well at least I can sleep fine knowing bratty 11 year olds can't afford a good mic to yell "kool words" into the mic annoying everyone. Hoorah.

Just to let anyone who was thinking about getting this headset, you can get it for $63 at amazon. Just a couple of bucks cheaper from newegg, but it's still cheaper.

same headphones? wtf are you talking about, plantronics is one of the best headset company's out there. You guys need to get ahold of yourselves until you have used a really good headset don't comment. And plantronics website rips you off, they are cheaper everywhere else.

go to cpl and see how many people have dsp-500s if you want to see how worth the money they are. but then cs nation IS the website where people didnt think a good sound card was the most important thing in a poll so i suppose people dont realise how useful sound is when in cs.



with dsp-500s (and most other good headsets i expect) you can hear someone running, and know exactly when theyre going to come round a corner. its almost like being able to prefire them its that gd.

$100 for a decent set of headphones really isn't a big deal, in the same way you'd spend $100 on a good sound card, then $20 on some shitty headphones that sound like ass.

If you have a set of Klipsch 4.1's, you can plug in your headphones into the side of the speaker with the controls on it. Take a look, its on the right side. 2 jacks for your pleasure.

i had a usb headset before...totally crap.. less sound quality, bad compability with stuff..many progs didnt realize i had a microphone because it went through usb..

Bah, get 2 soundcards! thats what i did. i have one quality sound card and surround sound speakers for music, and a shitty soundcard (you know those ones that are likes hacks in CS and you can hear tyhings farther away) for CS. also, if u cant plug your headphones into your speakers, get a dual speaker adapter, or something at least like that GameVoice thing which is pointless cause no one uses their software (but its very good antistaticing).



And you know why its a built in sound card? so you cant hear people from farther away! they are someday going to make it so you have to buy this to cs. and you know it...
