Hey dudes, it's Saturday. I went to Blockbuster today, but they didn't have any copies of CSX available to rent. That's okay though, because I did pick up the new ESPN NBA game. Oh boy does that rock. Anyhow, do you use aliases in CS? Up until very recently, I always just hit b82, b43, b42, etc., but they really are quite handy. Training yourself to use them, on the other hand, can be difficult.

I'm pretty surprised the majority of you haven't seen execclient abused before. Before Steam it was especially popular, but I haven't been seeing it quite as much in the past few months. Perhaps people got tired of rebinding my attack key to "kill" for a jolly laugh.

I hope everyone that celebrated it had a great Thanksgiving! I'm not much of a turkey fan myself, nor am I a very big eater, but I think the family aspect is what's important. Speaking of which, I've had a massive headache for about a day and a half though (Advil can't even touch it), which is probably someone in my family trying to poison me. What do you think of the improvements to the automatic sniper rifles? I guess they really want people to start using other guns!

Seems we're about split on the aliases. It took me a while to finally give in and start using them, but now that I do I can't imagine being without them. Buying everything I need by hitting "Home" on the NUMPAD is excellent! If you're interested in trying them out, rizzuh's alias pack is the best thing to use.

With one of the recent CS updates, we've been introduced to Autobuy and Rebuy features. Autobuy grabs you a set list of things, while rebuy purchases exactly the same thing you had last round according to your set order. The question now is whether or not we like these new features! Do you?

I've yet to see anyone use the new sniper rifles in a scrim, but they're definitely being used in public servers. I think it's cool that we're seeing some new guns being used. It's good for Counter-Strike.

Well apparently these new scripting features have gone down the path of most new additions in CS. We're a pretty crazy bunch aren't we? Actually, the Galil and FAMAS are popping up a lot, but I personally can't get used to either one. Some people are headshot machines with them though, and it's pretty irritating.

Sup poll dudes? Christmas is right around the corner, but I can't enjoy it because I have to get my wisdom teeth pulled on Monday thanks to my terrible finals schedule at school. Anyhow, enough about me, let's talk CS. Who had the best showing at the CPL? SK won, but they were the favorite, 3D got punk'd pretty early by the surprising mibr (I love mibr), and NoA reached the finals. What do you think?

What happens when you get addicted to a video game? Easy, you forget to do a poll! What is your control scheme in CS? I personally use the basic Quake 1 config, which I used to use in ALL games, but have since switched and now it's only used for CS. It consists of using the mouse buttons to shoot/move forward/move backward, period and comma to strafe, forward slash to reload, N to duck, and SPACE to jump. It's nutty!!!!!

I'm not sure I completely agree with this. Yes, they won and they're the BEST of the CPL, but does that mean SK necessarily had the best showing? I mean they were mostly predicted to win, and teams like NoA and mibr really kicked a lot of butt while not being predicted to do so. Had they won every match 13-0, I think I'd probably support this more.

Even though we've been voicing our opinions on it for a few days, I thought we should do a poll on those new CS changes coming up on the 14th. They should certainly change match play because CTs will no longer be able to run and hide when time is winding down, and Ts won't be able to money-punk the CTs by waiting a round out. Interesting! Maybe we'll do a follow-up poll in a few weeks.

Well, the new money system/bomb timer/other cool stuff update has been released, and now it's time to see how we like it. I like it, but I also think it was a good idea by CAL to experiment with shortening the round time by 30 seconds to keep things from getting too slow. You still have the same time to plant, and it's more sensible in the game that you can plant ANY time before the round ends instead of doing math in your head which hurts.

If you've been following the incredibly slow CS news lately, you've noticed that famed mapper narby is planning on giving aztec a little performance boost. This has proven to stir up a bit of controversy, as the more clan-style side has voiced that the ambience is messing up fps and sound pinpointing, while the other side thinks it's stupid to lower the immersion of the game just to benefit the minority.

After the heated debate, we've learned that there is a good-sized portion of the community which thinks "pro-mode" is a good idea. These people also happen to be many of the same that tried to fight the changes from 1.3 to 1.4. Apparently they'll never stop, but let's just see how much of the community is stuck in the past anyway.

In an interesting turn of events, CAL has recently decided to shift to a "pay to play" service instead of the incumbent system which requires no fee. While many have already voiced their opinions on the fee itself, I'm sure I can't be alone in wondering whether or not this is a good decision regardless of the whole paying thing. It could really strengthen the league, but if no one pays then no one plays. You like what I did there? Yeah, that one's free.

We've had a while to soak in Counter-Strike: Source and although everyone would probably agree that it looks flipping fantastic, do we think it'll really replace Counter-Strike? The logical move I guess would be to shift the communtiy over to the new hottness with the pretty graphics and slick physics, but it just seems impossible that CS would go out like that. I play both right now, but the bigger chunk of my time goes to regular ol' CS.
