Getting that fixed would be sweet.

To do that they would need 9 copies of the all the v_weapon models just to suit the different arm models representing each skin (4 CT, 4 T, 1 VIP for knife & USP). The arms are part of the weapon models...

I hope you mean golden-like bullets. Gold bullets would make the m249 bad. Sure it would increase the stopping power over lead, but the drop on those shots would be significantly higher.

Not to mention the price of primary ammo, and when your a Canadian CS player like I am, $16000 won't cut it

Doing so would require completely redesigning the way that Half-Life uses models, and would invalidate EVERY custom model made for CS up to this point. In other words, the slight variation between different arms doesn't matter enough to screw up everything else.
