          Oh so true. I'd rather join ETG than Quakenet.. and I whole-heartedly hate ETG.

              Well, gamesnet has a netsplit like atleast twice a day. I still like it though.

              Jeeze, Americans are so lawsuit happy. I knocked a kids teeth out, and I almost went to court, but I didn't. Hah!

                    the suit isn't all about the name. read up on it before commenting.
                    Yes, but it is, for the most part, about the name (on a different level though now that I understand the charges, my apologies for my first comment)..
                    the allegations:
                      » It claims that the defendants have infringed upon the US Federal and common law trademark GamesNET, which Mr. Wasylyna claims to own;

                      » engaged in California statutory and common law unfair competition by representing themselves as GamesNET;

                      » misappropriated and converted the gamesnet.net domain name, other unspecified intellectual property, and trade secret information for their collective benefit; and conspired with each other to perform those acts (this one is half and half, about money and the name)
                    I wouldn't cross out the assumption that it may be, for the most part, about money.. hell you could even say hes using the name stuff as a buffer so that it doesn't seem like its all about money, but either way.. now that I understand, I guess I'd be pissed if my stuff was ganked.

                    And Ghengis, this isn't the same thing. The people doing this work for GamesNET, they are part of the community (if you want to call it) that makeup GamesNET.. Its not like they just branched off from GamesNET, changed the s to a z and started their own server. The real argument here, as Mr. Sick pointed out, is that his shit was jacked.

                      I dont make myself clear, The case seem to be in the compalinants favour imho..

                      He has a completely valid point and If he has enough cash, ( cos thats how the US legal system wroks..) he will win his case.

                      My whinge was about the crass way such things are handled. Its almost as if these folks want evryone to know how dumb they are.. Whilst he has valid points, in his claim, if he had approached the entire situation sensibley from the start, he would have had appropriate contractual protections built in so that his trademark, ip etc was protected from day one, Only an idiot, ( particularly in teh Land of the Litigant) would start business with no legal protection..

                      Thus having to backtrack and evidence their claim through logs and conversations...

                        Are you an expert in the U.S. legal system or just another foreigner who gets his ideas from what he sees on tv? Your opinions must be based on something, and I'm pretty sure not on experience. Save the stereotypes.

                          I think it's funny that he's suing a a Non Profit 100% free organization that thousands of gamers rely on to maintain their esports community/find scrims/talk shit.

                          What a fucking selfish waste of a human being.
