Cliffe has updated CS.net with the Valve Release that RzE put up here a bit ago. Maybe it will be different reading it from CS.net?

        CS.net Update

Counter-strike.net has been updated with tons of tiny bits of news (so if added together, it's a lot, really, I'm serious).

        - New .fgd released for CS mappers out there. Visit this thread to give feedback.

        - New model of the hands, which are now more realistic and muscular.. (read: more sexy)

        - New 6.6b server files, and as cliffe seyz..
We've also got 6.6b .dll's and .so's for you admins that want to run them. They fix a "say" crash/exploit.
You have the Windows .dll and Linux .so. Reply to this thread with feedback or problems.

          CS.net Update

CS.net has updated with word about the upcoming 7.1 patch and server related stuff.
We're in the process of testing 7.1, which will be a server and client side patch. The patch will include n0th1ng's cs_siege map with a driveable APC (or maybe a truck), a stabler de_vegas under linux, and a couple bug and cheat fixes. Gooseman has also snuck in some small changes and features that the community has been wanting for a while now.

              CS.net Update

Counter-Strike's Official Site was just updated, and has a few words on the new HLDS (Half-Life Dedicated Server,) as well as an official map pack soon to be released. cliffe speaks:
As for news on CS itself, we're going to hopefully be putting out a map-pack for those of you who don't have all the CS maps. A few had to be left out due to complications in the retail process. We'll update with more info as soon as we finalize the pack. Also, speaking of HL: CS, they're giving away a few copies over at Planet Half-Life, our old home.
Unsure of whether the pack was to contain new maps or not, I questioned cliffe on the possibility. "no new maps.... yet," he responded.

Looks like the pack's sole purpose will be to allow players who bought the retail package to join the rest of us on a few maps that got ditched, such as cs_arabstreets. However, we just might be seeing some fresh new locales to battle on in the future.

                    CS.net Update

The fairy of CS.net updates has once again arrived in our bedrooms to give money for our items that we hold sacred, such as my skateboard by the aquabats.

In the update includes two pics of an upcoming map called de_rotterdam and news about a "dust supplement". It also comes in patch or powder form.

                      CS.net Update

cs.net has been updated with a schedule of the realease of the new cs and half-life patch.
Here's the projected release schedule for the next few weeks. Sometime next week CS 1.0.0.2 (Retail) will be released, which features Valve's Deathmatch Classic. If you have DMC already, you won't have to download the full package -- only about 1MB or so.

Then in mid July CS 1.3 will go out with Valve's integrated Voice Communication Tech as well as their new Proxy Spectator Tech. It will be called 1.3 as not to confuse it with the CS Retail version number.
This means Half-Life: Counter-Strike users will be getting Counter-Strike 1.2 (which features nothing all that new) and use CS mod users will be getting a new Half-Life Patch (which features nothing all that new, also). Eventually, both of us will recieve the new Counter-Strike version, 1.3 (us mod users also have to download a third update).

In the land of untimely CS-Nation updates, this one peaks up there as the official CS site has been updated with a Happy Fourth of July tidbit, along with the picture recap from Recon 2000..

                          CS.net Update

That's right, cliffe has updated cs.net once again to bring us news of a beta Half-Life engine test file.
Our Linux Guru, Leon Hartwig has posted up on our forums a quick clip from EricS at Valve about a beta Half-Life engine test file. The new files will fix the "bad address type" fatal server error (caused by clients with long names) and it also has logging of fatal Sys_Error server shutdowns. So check out the full forum post if you'd like to help test it out. This is for server admins only.
Hop along here to give that baby a whirl.

Also, as previously mentioned here on CS-Nation, the new ikonboard forums are now fully set-up and awaiting your input at cs.net. You can get yourself an account just here.
