Viking sends this tidbit:

In less than 5 days we have got over 80 clans registred in the league. We have two Danish League's which is filled out with 12 teams in each league. We two US league's where one of them is filled out with 12 teams and the other one has only room for two more teams.



We have created an Canadian League where the is registred 4 teams right now and therefore there is still room for 8 more teams. The Swedish league is also close to being filled out, just two more teams and it's full. This is the same story for the Norwegian League and the Benelux

League.



For the Finnish, German, Great Britain, Rest of Europe and the Rest of World League it is a bit slower, but we receive new registrations all the time so we expect them to be filled out shortly.

We can inform that the league WILL kick of December 1st. - We have finished all the programming for schedules, ranking system etc. and we are only making the final adjustment on the site and to the programming to make sure everything is working at it's best.



So all we are waiting for is to fill out the rest of the leagues and December 1st.

A new league has just opened its doors. The UK Gamers Counter-Strike League

UK Gamers Counter-Strike League was established on the 7th June 2001, created solely for the popular online mod Counter-Strike. By a gamer who will remain known only as Gr3ml1n its intentions are to provide Counter-Strike players with scheduled opponents so that they could simply have fun and enjoy playing in a monitored environment. Hopefully the league will span across several seasons and new revolutionary ideas will soon be incorporated into the league. This includes 6v6 play on spectacular looking maps where clans participate in total mayhem fighting conditions or even gang wars and shootouts while driving on a vehicle with a silly objective of completing a course

Also, Sierra and iGames have announced the next CSL - Counter-Strike League.

What sets this league apart from traditional leagues is the quality of play gamers will experience. Each team will compete in a LAN based game center with high-speed computers and a broadband connection to the Internet. Participating teams will compete against teams within the same game center as well as teams across the country at other iGames affiliated game centers. With teammates all sitting next to one another, on the state of the art equipment, competitive play has never been more exciting.
