Update: The servers are back up.



WON.net authorization servers are currently offline. There have been rumors about VAC or CS 1.6 updates being applied to the servers. There are also rumors of WON being "patched." Everyone who is saying this stuff knows absolutely nothing. It could be a VAC update, it could be the start of a global banlist, it could be routine maintenance, or it could be a hardware failure.



Who knows? No one, not even the people on Quakenet. So don't bother yourself with the cause. WON.net is down right now and will be back up soon.



The least plausible is CS 1.6, by the way.

As dates to CS1.6 of CZ yet. They are taking their time with both of thse (and keeping rather quiet)

Bleh. Maybe they finally sync east won server and west won server.



Or maybe they are applying "something" bigger, afaik WON handles many other game authentication id's than just HL.

I get server info with gamespy. its just when it comes to authenticating that it messes up with me

I tried playing cs for the first time on my lappy today and i cant join a game, its stuck at "starting network." Is this WON my problem?
