SinaC, yah I started in beta 2 way back in summer of 99 and I am almost 100% sure that there was no silencer, still only scope. And there was scope for a long while. I dont think the sig was added at beta 3, a later beta maybe.
Actually I'm positive silencer was added much later. I have proof.

The date on this screenshot is 9/11/2000, over a year after beta 2 was released. This is the old model, although w/ a custom skin, that had a scope and was always silenced... gosh the old betas used to own.
Oh, I swear there was always a silencer before they took away the scope.. I dunno its been so long.Comment

This was a terrible article. Not only was he insensitive to someone who had died at a very young age and gave a lot to the community, but he also bashed the awp for a few million pages. He kept adding his opinion to his article as if he was there to expierience any of this or as if we cared how his incompitence led him to take 20 minutes to rescue hostages. Honestly I hope he is removed from the csc team so he dosen't mistakenly act like he knows what he's talking about again. "Hi my name is Adam and I started playing 20 minutes ago during 1.3. LOLAlthough, in real life and in theory the gun SHOULD be more accurate with the silencer on purely because the barrel is lengthened, in CS, this type of logic doesn't apply for some reason unbeknownst to me.
He obviously doesn't know how a silencer works, its otherwise known as a supressor, it slows the bullet down, adding a bit more 'randomness' to its trajectory.
