First of all, I would like to point a finger and laugh at everyone here thats arguing on to pronounce a name of a gun.



Secondly, its all personal tastes...I'm more of the fun person, so i make fun of all the guns names...instead of saying Yoo-es-pee, why not just go uhsp. Sounds fun, fast to say, whats the harm...ay-double you-pee?



Thats insane...Op is so much more simpler...Stop bitching at each other about how you say things. PERSONAL TASTES.

Wow, three cheers for Riz for proposing a totally mundane and pointless mailbag that has provoked a huge number of arguments about the *laughs* pronunciation of a weapon in CS. I have two points:



a) Who cares how it's pronounced?



b) Its ' A - Double U - P'.

The real question here is not what sounds best or what is "easiest to say." The real question is what is correct. And being that AWP is an acronym(you can tell by those capital letters people), it is pronounced "A, W, P." "Y'all" is quicker and easier to say that "You all," but no one uses it because it make them sound uneducated and Texan. In my opinion, it reflects the same way upon a person's education when they say "Op," because it is quite clearly an acronym.

I'm mixed myself. If I'm writing about it (Web site profiles for clanmates), it's the Arctic Warfare/Magnum. If I talk about it with friends, "Ay-Double-U-Pee." But "Ay-Double-U-Pee-Whore" is too long for my tastes, hence, "Op-Whore."



But I'm definitely guilty of the Steyr "Ogg" error (yeah, NOW I know it's an acronym, but old habits die hard).



At least you can't mispronounce G3SG1.
