Um. I'm Australian, so "op" is a bit of a poor approximation. In our accent it'd be closer to "orp". Like "awe" but with a p. If I say it out loud in a strong American accent I can see where "op" comes from, though. I also make a damn idiot of myself.



I personally alternate between awp and a-w-p; it's basically arbitrary. May as well depend on what I've had for breakfast.



And to whoever asked the question about AWP vs AWM - it comes from the console. "Arctic Warfare Magnum Police" was abbreviated by the CS team, in the beginning, to awp instead of awm, and it's stuck.

strangely enough, op is like "op"erative most places, but in queens, long island, etc. AWP is the spelling of the acronym and the correct phonetical spelling. then again we say dog "dawg" so whatever.

Amen borther someone who can read english correctly. It is Orp, or Awp, as spelt. Like wisae, Whilst we know that the G in Gif stands for General...(Im going on a limb here rizz!) In an acronym we take the sounds fo the letters from how the runin the acronym. Theref0ore Gif is pronounced with a hard G as in golf. The only time G is proinounced liek a j is when it is followed by an 'e'. And when Im followed bvy an e I generally know Ive done to many!!
