In talking <i>just</i> about the number of units sold through retail stores, Valve's Zombie epic, Left 4 Dead, has sold over 1.8 million copies since its release.<br />

This news comes from a conference call made earlier today by Electronic Arts. This figure is only for physical copies purchased in 2008 for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the title.<br />

Figures for sales on Steam have not been released. In keeping with Valve's tradition of not releasing sales figures of their digital distribution platform, these figures may never be released. However, according to recent statements made by Valve, digital sales of their games have been surpassing retail sales.
