Though it needs to be said that Dota 2 is a free to download game. At the very least, any items or gear that was tied to those banned accounts is probably forever lost now.

Valve brought down the hammer of GabeN today on a number of Dota 2 players. In a short statement released via the official Dota 2 Twitter account, Valve made it clear that they're not about to put up with a bunch of crap from those abusing cheats.
