On August 22, the Games for Windows Marketplace will close up shop. Though you are no longer able to purchase new games, you will still be able to download previously bought games through the Games for Windows Live client.
This is being done in conjunction with the move away from using Microsoft Points to using actual real-world currency.

You can continue to enjoy previously purchased games and downloadable content in your catalog by downloading it through the Games for Windows Live client. Although the purchase functionality will be discontinued, the Games for Windows Live service will continue to operate as usual.
