Report: Dishonored Team Working on Prey 2

Is it possible that Prey 2 not only still lives but that it's being worked on by Arkane Austin, the team behind Dishonored? Yes, both of these may very well be true if reports issued by Alien Noire and Kotaku are at all true.

A source that is reportedly connected to the project said that this shift happened after Bethesda tried shopping the development around following a split from Human Head Studios in 2011. The problem is, the tipster has said that some of the team members at Arkane don't even want to make the game. In addition, it seems as though Bethesda may be forcing Arkane to scrap the old Prey 2 and start it over from scratch using Dishonored's engine.
And according to our original tipster—who I've confirmed is indeed in a position to have this information—Bethesda had been trying for a few months now to convince Arkane to work on the game. Last week, the tipster says, Bethesda finally forced their hand: Arkane would develop Prey 2, scrapping all the work that Human Head has done and starting from scratch, with a targeted release date of late 2016.

Some people at Arkane Austin are upset about this decision, our tipster said, but higher-ups at the company are telling the team to forget that it's called Prey 2 and just treat it like a new System Shock—the first-person PC series that inspired games like Bioshock and Arkane's last project, Dishonored.

Again, this is all merely a big bag of rumors for the time being. Until then, enjoy this gameplay mashup video for the open world bounty hunting game that never will be.
