State of Decay Arrives in June for Xbox Live Arcade, PC Release Coming Later

This June, the open world zombie apocalypse survival horror title State of Decay will be released on the Xbox Live Arcade. The developer, Undead Labs, said that a PC release will follow "later".

Undead Labs was created by ArenaNet's co-founder Jeff Strain. The game itself allows you to recruit survivors, scavenge for supplies, build and fortify structures, and kill the undead all over again with a wide variety of weapons. The game comes across as a bit more action-oriented version of the popular Day Z mod for Arma 2.

A key difference with State of Decay compared to other games is that it is single player only. If successful, Undead Labs is considering an MMO named "Class4" that will build upon State of Decay's gameplay mechanics. And really, the only competition this game really has in this particular genre is the abysmal The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, so it shouldn't be too hard to stand out from the competition.
