Deep Silver has just announced that Metro: Last Light will be released in North America on May 14, with other territories getting it just three days later on the 17th. This is the first major release from Deep Silver after having picked up the rights to the franchise from THQ earlier this year.
The story in Last Light was written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, the same acclaimed author that wrote the Metro 2033 novel, which then went on to inspire the first game. So far, Glukhovsky has written Metro 2033, Metro 2034, and Metro 2035 which is due out in North America later this year.
“The new release date is the ideal way to strike the balance between bringing the best out of Metro: Last Light and not keep the fans waiting longer than necessary.” , said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. “We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better.
