Right now, the jury is still out on exactly how many people were let go from Valve today. Really, the only confirmed lay off was for Jeri Ellsworth, though some reports had the number of affected employees sitting at 25.
Garry Newman (yes, the same one from GMod) tweeted a link showing the differences between Valve's employee page from a month ago to what it looks like today.
Obviously, the differences don't quite add up to 25, but then again this does not seem to list every employee at Valve. However, the notable departures are as follows:
Now again, this list could be anything. All it is right now is a list of employees that are no longer on the People page at Valve. The People page itself is still hugely incomplete. These former employees could have left for any number of reasons and may not at all be tied to today's layoffs.

- Jason Holtman (Director of Business Development)
- Keith Huggins (Special effects design for Weta, ILM, Digital Design)
- Tom Leonard (Design and tech for Source titles)
- Realm Lovejoy (Portal team)
- Marc Nagel (HL, CS, Opposing Force, etc.)
- Bay Raitt (Also formerly of Weta)
- Elan Ruskin (Engine programmer)
- Matthew Russell (Alien Swarm, TF2, Portal 2, both Emmy and Oscar nominated for his work outside Valve)
