Report: Next Xbox to Include Vastly Improved Speech Recognition

Didn't we just have a next-gen Xbox rumor yesterday, and now we have another one today? Son of a b- Oh hey, didn't see you there.

Yes, today's rumor says that the next-generation Xbox will include some fairly robust speech recognition technology. It will support wake on voice, speech-to-text, natural language support, and more. That means that you can now just say "Xbox on" and it will turn on for you! Or, if it's as good as the current recognition tech on the Xbox 360, it may cause your toaster to blow up.

The rumor goes on to say that Microsoft is also investigating better Kinect usage. The new Kinect will determine how many people are in a room and then offer up suggestions for multiplayer games they could play. Creepy. It will also include a Siri-like feature that will let you ask your Xbox what your friends are playing and it will provide the answer back to you.

Continued speculation also assumes that you will be able to dictate messages to your friends or strangers. So when you get that swear filled, racially charged, "your mom's a whore"-esque message from that 9 year old that you just destroyed in Halo 6, you know for sure that he really meant it.
