Sony and 'Kevin Butler' Actor Jerry Lambert Settle Lawsuit

Remember when Sony decided to sue Jerry Lambert, the actor who played the role of Kevin Butler? Sony was upset at Lambert being in a commercial for Bridgestone tires playing a Nintendo Wii, which was apparently a breach of contract.

MediaPost reports that Lambert did indeed cause some confusion with gamers when he appeared in the Bridgestone ad. As part of the settlement, Lambert has agreed to not appear in ads that are in any way related to gaming. This includes ads for games, hardware, or companies. This restriction is in place for two years. After those two years pass, Lambert will have to spend another two years telling Sony of any video game related commercials he is offered in order to see if it violates Sony's rights to the Kevin Butler character.

Though Lambert can still use the Kevin Butler character, with Sony's permission, no ads featuring him have aired since the start of this lawsuit.
