If I worked in the industry, working Valve or Bethesda might be my dream job.

I'm just glad that Valve and Mojang are mainly PC developers

  • Valve Named Edge's Top Developer Ahead of Mojang and Nintendo

In what I assume is a "top developer of all time" award and not a "top developer of the week" or "top developer of hats", Edge has named Valve their top developer ever. The Edge Developer Awards places the Half-Life developer ahead of first runner-up, Mojang, as one of the top 50 development studios in the world today.

The magazine, which you must pay for, includes a 12-page look at Valve and only Valve.
Behind the intricate, metallic pattern of issue 250′s cover is the inaugural Edge Developer Awards, a new, annual list in which we rank the top 50 devs in the world today. Judged by Edge’s editorial team, the EDA’s disregard revenue, sales figures and review scores and look instead at technical and creative ability – the studios that realise the most involving and stimulating game worlds whether that’s through visual, audio or game design. And we dedicate 12 pages to our number one studio, Valve, to discover what makes the developer so special.

How does anybody known where Mojang is on the list? Well, Notch himself Tweeted a few hours ago about how he's shocked that Mojang is #2 on the list and feels as though his company does not deserve such an honor. He then Tweeted a short time after that about how he's ahead of Nintendo, which comes in at #3 on the list. As for the other 47 developers, you'll just have to read the magazine to find out. Though knowing the Internet, it'll probably be online within minutes of the subscriptions being received.
