Valve Acquires Two New Employees from San Francisco Based Start-up Studio

Yesterday, word broke that Valve has picked up two new employees and possibly a new studio to add to its lineup. Star Filled Studios, born from just two employees that used to work on Plants vs. Zombies and Diablo III, has been acquired by Valve Software.

The studio is based in San Francisco. Here is what Valve's Doug Lombardi had to say to Joystiq about this acquisition.
"As a point of clarification, this is probably better categorized as Valve hiring two new employees instead of an acquisition of a company or opening of a Valve SF office."

Given the relative small size of the company, it should stand to reason that the two employees at Star Filled, Tod Semple and Jeff Gates, are now just employees of Valve. As Lombardi noted, there is really nothing saying that Valve has plans to expand on the offices in San Francisco.

It could also be seen as a similar move to what Valve did with Turtle Rock Studios back in 2008.
