Details Revealed for Borderlands 2's Torgue DLC

IGN has received some fresh details on Borderlands 2's Campaign of Carnage DLC staring Mr. Torgue. Like the previous DLC with Captain Scarlett, the Campaign of Carnage adds in new areas, new achievements, and another new currency.

The story centers around a new vault discovered on Pandora, that finds the players battling it out to try and open it.
The basic story of Campaign of Carnage revolves around a new vault discovered in Pandora, buried in the center of a large crater that will only open “once the champion of Pandora feeds it the blood of the ultimate coward.” Your introduction to Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage comes via Mr. Torgue himself, screaming at you like a terrifying mix of Hulk Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage with a deep love for explosions.

As Mr. Torgue describes the new vault, “we at the Torgue Corporation sincerely believe this is f**king awesome -- so awesome that we're going to set up a tournament to find this number one badass.” That tournament takes place in an arena that will serve as the centerpiece of the expansion, built around the Badass Crater of Badassitude where the vault is buried. You’ll need a sponsor to participate, and one of the first new characters you’ll meet is Piston, a scarily-large brawler with engine pistons for hands.

Missions are a combination of traditional Borderlands 2 style with the Circle of Slaughter. Enemies take on specialized roles, and there are multiple bosses including Pyro Pete, Motor Mama, and Badassaurus Rex (picture below).

Enemies are just as likely to attack each other as they are likely to attack you. Pick up Torgue Tokens from defeated foes to spend on special vending machines throughout the new area. Characters from the main story return in this DLC including Tannis, Moxxi, and Tiny Tina. Unfortunately, it doesn't sound as though the level cap will be raised in this DLC yet either.
