
Of those 500,000 units, nearly all of them were reserved within the first day or two of them being offered for pre-order back in September. GameStop says that the increased figures are due to a much stronger third-party lineup, something that the original Wii lacked and still does to this day.
Third-party favorites for the Wii U include Zombi U, Assassin's Creed 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, and Scribblenauts Unlimited. These sales figures also go hand-in-hand with the analysts predicting sales hitting 3.5 million units for the Wii U this holiday season alone.
