Turbine, the team behind the MMO's for Dungeons & Dragons and The Lord of the Rings has been hit with a round of layoffs today according to the Boston Globe.
This comes as part of a "restructuring" from Turbine's parent company, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
“As part of the continual review of our business operations and fluctuating market conditions, we have had to make reductions in our Turbine workforce,” said Remi Sklar, spokeswoman for Warner Bros. Entertainment Group, in an e-mail. “The group continues to remain an integral part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.”
The number of employees affected by this is not yet known or revealed. These layoffs also come just a few days after a big content update was released for The Lord of the Rings Online.
This comes just days after Zynga laid off around 100 employees.
