In the "coming days" EA is going to roll out Origin 9.0 which features a big revamp to the design alongside a few new features for users. Highlights include a friends list that is now a separate window (think Steam), a slider has been added to the My Games section to adjust the size of the game icons, and a new hover card feature that makes it a bit easier to download or install titles.
There is also a clock when using the in-game menu and performance improvements have been made to the client itself.

1. Launch the Origin client and log in to your account.
2. Click the gear icon and select Settings from the drop-down menu.
3. Scroll down to Origin Pre-Release Participation and check the box next to “Update to the pre-release version if available.”
4. Click Close to save your settings.
