Variety is reporting that Rockstaready is already working on the next installment to their widely popular Batman series of games. Following up on the success of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, it's being said that the next title will be a prequel set in the Silver Age of DC's comics from the 1950's.
The game may find Batman teaming up with other heroes from the DC universe and would not be out until 2014 at the earliest. Nothing has been officially announced just yet so this idea may not yet be set in stone.

But Variety has learned that WBIE is expected to reteam some of the characters in some form for the next installment in Rocksteady Studios' gritty vidgame series that began with "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Arkham City."
New, highly stylized title is being developed as a prequel that revolves around Batman's first meeting with the Joker. It's based on the Silver Age of DC's comicbooks from the 1950s when the Caped Crusader teamed with other heroes like Superman and founded the Justice League of America.
