Double XP for Battlefield 3 began last night and runs through until July 8 for Premium players, and July 4 for non-Premium members.
The double XP is applied at the end of every round and effectively doubles your score (duh). This applies to any ranked server, on any mode, and on any expansion pack. Be sure to hop into your favorite server and roll in that sweet, sweet XP that probably doesn't really matter much to you since many of you are probably already above Colonel.
