Don't fret too much over the headline. Trent Oster was busy Tweeting the other day a few details concerning Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and the probability of DLC.
That is to say that the core game is still very much intact and that any DLC that is released will be bonus content created exclusively for this Enhanced Edition of the game. Oster also confirmed that offline mode is "mandatory" for the game and that updates and patching will be done through Beamdog.
