Nintendo confirmed today that New Super Mario Bros. 2 coming out on August 19 on the 3DS will have some form of paid DLC coming post-release. This news was confirmed by Reggie "My Body is Ready Fils-Aime.
The paid DLC? Well, so far it seems as though it will be limited to a variety of new "coin rush" stages. He did promise that this DLC is not affecting the game's development, nor will it affect the core gaming experience in NSMB2.
After years of speaking out against the release of paid DLC, it's sad to see that Nintendo has succumbed and is going down this road. I guess this is what happens when your company is starting to struggle.
