Red Orchestra 2 Mapping Contest Promises $35,000 in Prizes

Tripwire Interactive has kicked off their "Coutnerattack" Custom Map Making Competition for fans of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad. The prize pool for the competition includes over $35,000 in prizes and cash for the various winners.

Let's let TWI break the competition down a bit for you.

The theme for the maps, unsurprisingly, is World War 2. We’re expecting Eastern Front, as we already have the Germans and Russians in place, but it is up to you!

The contest will run in two Phases. Phase 1 completes August 15, 2012, with a First Prize of $2,500 and an Intel CPU/Motherboard for the winner, while the runners-up will get prizes including prize money, Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies. Phase 2 is the Big One, completing October 15, 2012. The Grand Prize will be $10,000 and a high end Origin PC laptop with a custom Red Orchestra 2 paint job. Yes, a full Ten Thousand Dollars for the winning entry! There will be more prize money, Nvidia graphics cards and Logitech goodies for runners-up in Phase 2.

The complete set of rules, prize breakdowns, and of course the application form can all be found at the official competition page.
