Dark Souls PC E3 Demo Struggled to Run on 6xx-line of Video Cards

Apparently, the PC version of Dark Souls is in even more dire straits than we previously could have imagined. Sure, we already know it's not going to be optimized worth a damn, but the demo shown at E3 was running on a card from the 6xx line from Nvidia and was still terrible.

It’s even more disappointing to see that Namco, when using the top end Nvidia GTX 6** cards (unknown model), the game still performs badly. Now, is this just me being a little arrogant, but if my game wasn’t running smoothly at a bloody demo conference, surely you’d try to sort that out? I would’ve picked a mid range graphics card and basically had that as the baseline of basically being “anything below card X will not be able to run Dark Souls”. However, starting off at the top end? People having to purchase $600 card to run Dark Souls? Get outa town…..

Last but not least, the E3 build of Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition featured a frame rate setting, which was set to 30 FPS, a Window/Full screen mode and an Anti-Aliasing Option (with On and Off settings). So it’s really not looking good for the highly anticipated, over 100,000 petition signed, ported over RPG. Coupled with that, it’s running on the GFWL platform. Just great….

With all this news coming out for how terrible Dark Souls is going to run on PC, my interest in the title is essentially gone completely.
