In today's dose of "derp" news, the self-proclaimed professional gamer, Athene, pasted his Battle.net account password for the entire world to see. The slip up happened while Athene was live streaming his playing Diablo III to a (then) crowd of about 7,000 viewers.
He mistakenly pasted his password into the email field and well, you can pretty much guess what happened next. Yes, his Battle.net account was compromised and he was subsequently locked out of accessing it. He must now go through the process of retrieving it.
His stream was an effort to raise money for charity. At the time of his mistake, he had already raised over $805,000 for Operation ShareCraft, a charity set up to help feed children in Africa.
This begs the question of "why wasn't he using an authenticator to begin with?"
