Notch, the original mind behind Minecraft on the PC said, "I feel stunned." This came shortly after receiving news that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition hit 1 million sales in just five days' time.
Not too shabby for one of the most expensive Live Arcade titles to be released.
Let's not forget that Minecraft on the PC hit the 1 million sales mark when the game was still in the early beta stages! Right now, the Minecraft website has over 16 million registered users (data from late 2011). Minecraft: Pocket Edition also hit the 1 million units sold mark.
Beyond hitting 1 million units sold in just five days, Microsoft revealed that players have already spent 5.2 million hours mining. They also note that there have been over 4 million multiplayer sessions played for a total of 2.4 million hours spent playing multiplayer.
This news comes just days after it was revealed that Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition smashed the single day sales record for an Xbox Live title.
