Latest Minecraft Snapshot (12w17a) Adds Editable Books

Tired of the books in Minecraft not doing anything but sitting around looking like 8-bit books? Well at long last, the books in the game can be edited with your epic tales of love, loss, and stupid inside jokes.

The latest snapshot release, 12w17a, added in editable books. In fact, it added in a few other things as well.

- Added editable books
- Wooden half slabs in four colors (and they act as wood instead of stone)
- Bug fixing and tweaks, notably about entity collisions, “picking blocks” (creative mode), and chat
- Some other, censored stuff
