The father of Resident Evil, Shinji Mikami, revealed via Famitsu that he is currently working on a new survival horror game. Codenamed Zwei, the game is being developed by his new studio, Tango Gameworks.
Beyond the fact that it is survival horror, not much was revealed about the game. It is in the earliest stages of development, so it may be a while before we hear anything new. Mikami said once, that he would stop creating games after he finishes just one more after his release of Shadows of the Damned. Zwei may end up being the last title he works on before shifting his focus to simply running his new studio.
Hopefully, this new title is a return to form for the survival horror genre. You know, more Resident Evil 2 and less Resident Evil 5.
