Obsidian Developers Denied Bonus for Fallout: New Vegas Over Metacritic Score

More troubling news today with regards to the layoffs hitting Obsidian Entertainment. According to one developer at the company who worked on Fallout: New Vegas, the team was denied bonuses since New Vegas did not achieve a Metacritic rating of 85 or higher.

"FNV was a straight payment, no royalties, only a bonus if we got an 85+ on Metacritic, which we didn't," tweeted by Chris Avellone, an Obsidian designer.

The Tweet in question was removed by Avellone since it went up last night. Fallout: New Vegas only achieved a Metacritic score of 84.

It is also rumored that it was Microsoft who canned Obsidian's next-gen project, but there is no confirmation as to whether or not this is actually true or not.
