The big news today seems to be that the iPad 3 will be announced in the first week of March. All Things Digital reports that sources close to Apple revealed that the new iPad will be revealed at an event in San Francisco.
The details are, obviously, sketchy about the iPad 3 as this is all just baseless rumor right now. However, it's speculated that it will be similar in size to the iPad 2, it will be "running a much faster chip", have a better GPU, and come with a lovely 2048x1536 Retina Display.
Apple responded to the report by saying their company does not comment on rumors and speculation.
Given how large the game scene is growing on iOS devices, this seems like an appropriate time to have a bigger focus on the hardware behind all of those popular games.
