EA and Playfish are tickled pink that their latest social title, The Sims Social, is doing so well. They revealed that the app has over 50 million monthly active users. Starting at 5 million users, the game grew like gangbusters, gaining 15.5 million players last week alone to hit 51.5 million MAUs.
The only social game that surpasses The Sim Social at present? Zynga's CityVille, which presently has 74.1 million MAUs. If you're on a certain social network that goes by the name of Facebook (perhaps you've heard of it?), you can join up and see what all the fuss is about in The Sims Social.
"When we created The Sims Social, it was important for us to incorporate the deep gameplay nuances The Sims Studio has perfected and leverage what Playfish does best - develop compelling, cutting-edge social-gaming experiences," said Playfish London general manager John Earner at the time of its launch.
