Yeah, the graphics were toned down significantly in the alpha. There were no HD textures at all, for example.

I'm not worried, my PC is overclocked, has a GTX480 and can handle most games like a champ.

Its true the betas have just turned into a glorified demo but when did this happen?.The last bf demo i rem was bf2 then.

Its not like they change anything or even listen to feedback , we all know we are getting the boxed beta.I just hope the add content with patches and it doesnt just end up that patches are just for bug fixes.

How do we know that they will not leason to the community this time. We don´t!!!
Lets give them the benefit of the doubt.

Obviously they have to release the same map in the Beta as in the Alpha otherwise it would be quite hard to test the changes.
All in all they are probably satisfied with the general map layout and such and are only worried about handling and other none map related matters.
Map tweaking will probably follow after a while.

At no point have they ever asked the community what we want in any BF's game's devopment stage from what i can remember, on bug fixes they might listen but then they have too really.

I suppose they did listen to the 64 player cries , prone and jets but we had that already.

Im not complaining and its beta/demo time soon!:)

well thats the thing. The community wanted those things back. As you may recall many of us were asking for battlefield 2.1 with better graphics. I'd say they have listened a lot more than most.

Also, Listening to the community for everything is not necessarily the best. CoD comes to mind, with its mish-mash of over powered features and all.

And we are kinda already getting BF2.1 as four BF2 maps are featured in BF3.
I have a fealing we will see some of the rest as well. THAT WOULD BE EPIC!!!

I wonder what would be played the most?

Well, there's enough of a community for all opinions to be out there. Perhaps they listened to the one guy who loved the alpha map and thought Caspian Border was too big.

Yeah, Im afraid thats my fault guys, sorry about that.

See, some months ago there was a post in our BF3 section about what map would be in the beta and I guessed that it would be Op. Metro and thats how all this happened.

I did the same thing for the dogs in CoD:W@W.
