How's this for a rumor? Apparently, a Vietnamese beta tester for DotA 2 has leaked the client for the game. And apparently a number of the game's assets, including but not limited to: the spell placeholder icons, the speech files for the heroes, the backstory for the characters, caption strings, a hat, models, and a shared phrase used amongst all of the heroes.
And then there's this alleged piece of code hidden within the files.
Hm, what's that? EP3? Episode 3? Half-Life 2: Episode 3? Naw, it couldn't be!
The Lambda Generation also notes that the files linked above also contain hints at bundles, gear, tools, and effects that point towards the possibility of microtransactions. There's still more mentioned.
As with all rumors, this may all prove to be fake. We at TGN do not have these files to verify anything nor do we wish to acquire the illegally leaked files to verify. However, it makes for great reading, especially if Episode 3 is mentioned!

There’s also some code labelled “sob”, with mentions of ”func_nebula”, “sob_server_ship_system” and “sob_flightplan”. Could Valve be working on some sort of space flight game? Is it Gunman Chronicles 2? Ricochet 2? The long-awaited Fart Cops? This SOB thing sounds interesting, even if it’s acronymized just like “son of a bitch”.
