Weapon, Perk, and "Killstreak" Seen at Call of Duty:XP

Destructoid.com posted up a list of things seen at the Call of Duty:XP event:

This list for all the weapons and perks in Modern Warfare 3 is comprised of everything I saw last night at Call of Duty XP. There's always the chance that these items can be removed -- or new ones introduced -- before the game launches this November. But for now, here's the breakdown of what I got a glance of.

New for each weapon is that you'll be given a proficiency option on top of your attachment options. I didn't have all the time in the world to write exactly which proficiency and attachments will be available for each weapon type, but know that most of them are seen in multiple weapon categories.

    •Hardline
    •Assassin
    •Overkill

    Perk 3:
    •Marksmen
    •Stalker (move faster while aiming)
    •Sitrep
    •Steady Aim
    •Dead Silence

    Death Streak:
    •Juiced
•Revenge (See the position of the last enemy that killed you)
    •Final Stand
    •Martyrdom
    •Dead Man's Hand
    •Hollow Points

You can see the complete list of weapons and options at here.

There is also the new killstreak system that is now called "Strike Packages":

Strike Packages, as they are now called, will come in three flavors and are designed for three type of core play styles. Assault is what you remember Killstreaks to be, Support is designed to help aid your team, and Specialist is every Perk you can get. Seriously.

First, here's the list of all the rewards you get for the three Strike Packages:

    Assault:
    •UAV
    •Care Package
    •I.M.S.
    •Predator Missile
    •Sentry Gun
    •Precision Airstrike
    •Attack Helicopter
    •Strafe Run
    •little Bird Guard
    •Reaper
    •Assault Drone
    •AC130
    •Pave Low
    •Juggernaut
    •Osprey Gunner

    Support:
    •UAV
    •Counter-UAV
    •Ballistic Vests
    •Airdrop Trap
    •Sam Turret
    •Recon Drone
    •Advanced UAV
    •Remote Turret
    •Stealth Bomber
    •EMP
    •Juggernaut Recon
    •Escort Airdrop

    Specialist:
    •Recon pro
    •Sleight of Hand Pro
    •Blind Eye Pro
    •Scavenger Pro
    •Quickdraw Pro
    •Blast Shield Pro
    •Hardline Pro
    •Assassin Pro
    •Marksman Pro
    •Stalker Pro
    •Sitrep Pro
    •Steady Aim Pro
    •Dead Silence
•(Note: One perk missing from this list.)

So as you can see, Assault is pretty traditional. Note the lack of a Nuke option. One thing Infinity Ward gathered from the fan feedback is that stuff like the Nuke is game breaking. So that's where all the balancing comes in. No nuke, no shotty as a secondary weapon anymore, no Commando perk, no Last Stand (except in a Death Streak) and so on.

Then there's support, where you're obviously meant to help your teammates more than anything else. You have more of an incentive to help your team now anyway as you get points for assisting your teammates, getting objectives, and more. You're getting rewarded for helping your team and best of all, your streak doesn't reset after getting killed with the Support Strike Package.

You can read the rest of the article here.

Since I am a bit confused on how these actually work, I found the website mw3persk.com that explains when things happen:

The concept of Killstreaks is being replaced by Strike Packages in Modern Warfare 3. Strike Packages differ from Killstreaks in that they allow you to earn different classes of killstreaks based on the way you want to play the game. If you want to be a support player then there is the support tier of Killstreaks, which will allow you to provide basic support killstreaks while being able to rack up your kill count without deaths breaking it. That means that if you get 2 kills, die, and then get another 2 kills, you will unlock the 4 kill support tier Strike Package. Deaths do not reset your kill count.

If you think you’re uber 1337 and want the more personally rewarding killstreaks then you can pick the Assault Tier or Specialist Tier Strike Packages. Both of these work the same way they did in previous Call of Duty games, where your streak is reset when you die.

Click here to read the kills needed for each option.

So there are quite a few options for the new Modern Warfare 3. A lot to decide on how you will play and what you will chose. Of course any of this could change before release, but it seems a pretty sure bet that this is the new setup. What are your thoughts?

Not game breaking enough for me to buy it.

I would think it would be Blind Eye. That or they took them out and made it Counter-UAV only.

Oh hell ya, and just looked it up. Looks like I'll be able to use Blindeye and Overkill and then use the specialist killstreaks for slight of hand.
